Exploring London: Coppa Club Putney – The Chicest Place For Ladies Who Lunch

Saturday, 23 April 2022

I was invited along to Coppa Club in Putney [ad-pr invite] – yep, those uber chic restaurants in swanky locations with a ton of sleek igloos that you can cosy up inside and enjoy a secluded meal within.

Dubbed as the riverside Clubhouse on the edge of the River Thames, Coppa Club Putney is the ideal place for breakfast, brunch, dinners, cocktails and coffees. With a super chilled out vibe, it's a cosy place to visit in the chilly months and a fun and sunny place to visit in the summer.

Their menu is full to the brim with yummy offerings and described on their website as "thoughtful and unfussy". And with the menu ranging from small plats to snacks, hefty mains, healthy salads, sourdough pizzas, fresh pastas and delicious desserts – there is something for everyone.

When I arrived at the venue at around 1pm on a Tuesday afternoon, it was very empty and relaxed in the main part of the restaurant. The group of servers who looked after me were attentive and couldn't do enough to help, serve impeccably and recommend the best meals.

I opted for one of the secluded igloos as this was my first 'proper' time dining out since the start of the pandemic and I didn't feel ready to sit inside with lots of maskless people. The igloo was clean and fresh, decorated beautifully and had ambient music playing throughout the afternoon which was a lovely touch.

With views of the River Thames and Putney Bridge, it was the perfect location to dine, enjoy cocktails and take in the stunning views of South West London.

After being seated in our secluded igloos, we were handed menus and upon looking at what was on offer, I instantly knew what I wanted to order, as did my mum who was accompanying me.

For the table we ordered the garlic bread with added cheese and the buttermilk fried chicken. We also ordered cocktails – the garden spritz for my mum, and a pornstar martini for myself. When they arrived we were taken aback by how stunning the two cocktails looked and how yummy the starters smelt. Tucking in, we absolutely loved the garlic bread paired with the chicken bites and would definitely order again in the future.

We were left to indulge in our starters and cocktails for a little while, which was nice because it didn't feel rushed in the slightest. With the views of the river, a deep conversation and great food and drink – we couldn't have asked for more.

The servers then came and took our orders for the main course – the main event if you will. My mum and I both opted for the 10oz sirloin steak with fries and truffle sauce. We finished up our cocktails and then our food arrived shortly after, and we were completely enamoured. The steak was cooked to perfection, was perfectly moist, succulent and incredibly tasty. My only fault was that peppercorn sauce wasn't available, but the opulent truffle sauce was a nice accompaniment for sure.

The steak was accompanied by pea shoots, a grilled portobello mushroom and skinny fries. It was delicious and totally worth the ever-so-slightly hefty price tag.

It took a short while to devour the steak, which was expected due to the shear size of it. But nonetheless we both tackled our steaks because they were way too good to leave any of.

After finishing our main, one of the servers came to take our dessert order. My mum ordered the warm pecan pie and I ordered the indulgent sticky toffee pudding as per the server's recommendation.

Pure heaven, pure indulgence and pure opulence – the desserts were both incredibly delicious and made for a wonderful way to round off the meal.

With our desserts we also ordered a latte each to conclude the dreamy afternoon. We nursed our drinks for a while and then soaked up the incredible surroundings, because it was honestly just such a great experience – all round.

The entire experience was second to none and I had such a wonderful afternoon at Coppa Club Putney.

If you're ever south of the river and close to Putney, then definitely add visiting Coppa Club to your 'must-do list'.

Thanks so much for the incredible afternoon, Coppa Club! You'll definitely see me again soon, I can assure you!
