If you know me, you'll know I love all things vintage. And if you've read my blog for a while, you'll know I love Collectif's Caterina Dress. There's something about the whimsy, 1950s vintage vibe that this dress exudes that just makes me BEAM with happiness.
Isn't it funny how an outfit can instantly make you feel a particular way? Different outfits make me feel different emotions – dresses make me feel put together and classy, trousers and a roll neck make me feel professional and sumptuous, a skirt with tights and a blouse make me feel intelligent and dainty, joggers with a cropped top make me feel edgy and on-trend – clothing is the biggest most successful way of expressing yourself, and for me, it's my favourite way to convey my mood.
When I button up my Caterina dress, I feel instantly put together and like I've stepped out of an Audrey Hepburn movie. Pair the dress with a red lip, a pair of funky tights and a flat pump and I'm ready to conquer the world. It's funny because yesterday when I was buttoning up my Caterina dress, fastening the belt and slipping into my flat pumps, I didn't realise how powerful I would end up being.
Although I felt powerful and fearless when I buttoned up my Caterina dress on Thursday morning, I didn't have a clue how far that fearlessness would take me. The boost in confidence I felt transpired into a wonderous day, filled with opportunity and abundance. Did this day happen coincidentally? Or was it because I was unintentionally power dressing? I guess we'll never know.
But what I do know is, I love wearing clothes that make me feel fabulous, and when I feel fabulous, great things always come my way.
Steal Mollie's Style...
Mollie is wearing the gorgeous Caterina 1950s style Mini Polka Dot Swing Dress (ad-pr), teamed with Snag 40 Denier Polka Baby Tights (ad-pr), Clarks flat black pumps, accompanied by a black patent leather Lulu Guinness Paula Handbag. The outfit is timeless and classic – two factors you should always look for when styling an outfit to empower and exude power, confidence and class. The cinched waist with a balcony bra makes the perfect combination – a true 1950s silhouette.
This outfit is perfect for an hourglass or pear-shaped figure – great for accentuating curves and exaggerating any features you want to be enhanced.
Sometimes a simple black colour palette can be the most impressionable and show-stopping – timeless fashion is such fun and so.... timeless!
