[Dress featured in this blog post was gifted by SHEIN]
Big boobs, small boobs, perky boobs and saggy boobs – no two boobs are the same (like, literally). I'm blessed with big boobs and you know what? I've not actually always been content with my bosoms.. why? Well, I think the media and society have a big role to play in my mindset prior to finding the body positive community.
Magazines, adverts, TV shows and so many other facets of the media constantly promote women with big boobs. Not only are they big but they're perky, pert, round, toned and 'perfect' according to society. We have all been conditioned to think that you either have a flat chest or big, round, toned boobs – this simply isn't true.
My boobs sag a bit. My boobs have stretch-marks on them. My boobs have prominent hair follicles. My areolas are large and not perfectly central. One of my boobs is bigger than the others. I get boob sweat in the summer. My cleavage isn't perfect and sometimes I get a cleavage gap depending on the bra I wear. And when I have no bra on my boobs spread. ALL OF THIS IS COMPLETELY NORMAL.
And you know what? If you have NONE of the above, that's also completely normal too. No boobs is normal, tiny boobs are normal, large nipples are normal. ALL BOOBS ARE UNIQUE TO YOU AND ARE COMPLETELY NORMAL.. regardless what top shelf magazines, music videos and beach babes on Instagram have/say/promote.
Boobs are just sacks of fat that are somehow deemed attractive.. ALL boobs are beautiful in their own big or little way.

I love the message of this post, I recently watched a video by AlexandrasGirlyTalk and she discussed her history with cosmetic surgery specifically breast implants and how she always thought hers were abnormal because only a specific type is shown in the media. This is so important to share, there really is no "normal", I love this dress too by the way. Thanks for sharing the body positivity! Great post xx

DeleteI needed this post! I am currently pregnant and I plan on breastfeeding, which I know will change things completely. Media is constantly showing us "perfect" images, but they`re not really perfect either. We need to accept our bodies more.

YES YES YES!! Congratulations on your pregnancy, and PLEASE don't think of yourself as anything other than beautiful!! xxx
DeleteYes! This! I've always had a large set and forever "knew" that I couldn't wear bralettes or go braless or I had to have an underwire.... Nah. Not anymore
ReplyDeleteYES!!!!!!!! Thank you so so much for sharing this with me.. we own our bosoms and we can do whatever we want with them! xxx
DeletePREACH PREACH PREACH GIRL! We're all human and we should accept and feel comfortable in our own bodies! xx

I love Shein! That dress is so pretty! I've always been insecure about my boobs because they're small but they also sag so it makes me not feel so confident in going out without a bra or with wearing certain tops. One day I went out without a bra and I felt so weird and like everyone could notice but it was all in my head. I have to learn to accept my boobs the way they are. I appreciate this post ♥

Love this post. I have always had big boobs and it put me off PE etc at school but now I don’t care. They are annoying when they fall out of certain bras but we should embrace our curves!!
ReplyDeleteLove the shein dress! And also thank you for writing this! I hate mine, especially after 2 kids and fluctuating weight. I wish I was happy with them, but I am not. I want *gasp* a reduction someday and lift.
