Moschino HAS to be my favourite label in existence. Moschino is constantly fun, fresh and innovative. Jeremy Scott never fails to amaze me, stun me and persuade me to want everything from his capsule collections. In previous years at Milan Fashion Week, we have seen collections (since 2013 when Jeremy Scott become the Creative Director for Moschino) incorporating Barbie, McDonalds, Road Signs and Bears.. but for FW17 Rat is the word..
I have covered many of Moschino's collections by Creative Director, Jeremy Scott here on The Perks of Mollie Quirk. From SS15 (Barbie), FW15 (Ready to Bear), SS16 (Fresh Couture) and FW16 (Burnt Ballgowns) - it has all been covered by me. Why? Well, I just adore Jeremy Scott and the masterpieces he comes up with for Moschino.
The Moschino Fall/Winter 2017 Collection is definitely one of my favourites - it's absolutely flawless, super clever and incredibly fun! I adore the neutral colour palette from this collection - perfect for FW17. Beiges, blacks and greys with hints of red adorned the catwalk in the form of paper bag styled t-shirts, handbags and clutches. The overall theme, aside from Rats was very 'boxy'. Brown paper packages tied up in string, boxes, brown tape and fragile stickers.. this collection is very much.. 'moving house chic'
Gigi Hadid and her sister, Bella looked exquisite as they walked the runway dressed in beige coats covered in stamps that read 'Fragile' and 'This Side Up'. I adore the fact that both sisters were walking the runway, they even walked one after the other, which I thought was a lovely and oh so clever touch.
Aside from the Ready-to-Wear collection which features above, below is the Rat-A-Porter Capsule Collection. This collection is a little more casual and laid back with a more 'street' feel to it - these pieces are timeless and could be worn in a vast amount of eras without looking out of place. If you decide to purchase a piece from a Moschino Capsule Collection; treasure it for ever as it's a piece of living art created by an incredible label.
Below I have compiled a grid full of my top picks from the Moschino FW17 Capsule Collection. The entire Rat-A-Porter collection is incredibly appealing to me, I just adore the fun aspect of it and think it's super exciting and unique. Jeremy Scott never fails to add a splash of fun into the fashion world, so I didn't really except any less from him regarding this collection.
My favourite pieces from above are.. hold on, that's impossible to specify. Everything is gorgeous and to own anything or better, everything from this collection would be amazing, would it not?
It is a MASSIVE dream of mine to sit FROW at a Moschino showcase at Milan Fashion Week. Maybe one day I will be lucky enough to do so. It would really be a dream come true.
What do you think of Jeremy Scott's creations for FW17? Do you think you'd be brave enough to wear any of these gorgeous pieces? I know I would definitely love to sport the majority of the pieces above, I just think they're so different and bold - Jeremy Scott is so talented!
