When in doubt, wear RED!

Wednesday, 1 February 2017

Whilst growing up, red clothing didn't really occur to me as something to buy or even wear (I wasn't brave enough, nor did I believe that I could pull it off), but ever since I became obsessed with wearing red lipstick back in 2014, red has been my colour. On a weekly basis, I wear a red hue once or twice (sometimes more) - I just feel that it suits me, empowers me and enables me to feel confident. When I'm in doubt, I always wear some form of red... Continue reading to see how YOU can incorporate a splash of red into your outfits..

Red is a daring colour to say the least. It draws attention to you, peoples' heads turn towards you and if you're lucky, they will look at you in awe; wishing they could pull red off just as well as you. Whether you incorporate red into your outfits in the form of nail polish, lipstick, a silk scarf, blouse or handbag - red is colour that you need to start wearing... NOW!

In this outfit (which I must just say, would look amazing for a St. Valentine's Day outfit), I am sporting a gorgeous red stripy blouse (the one I am wearing is currently unavailable, click here to see a similar red stripy blouse) from Dorothy Perkins; smart black trousers from Primark; red block courts from Principles by Ben de Lisi and the cutest red leather handbag, the 'Electra Real Leather Top Handle Bag - RED', by HaveBest. The jewellery I am sporting is from WatchShop.com, a beautiful Tommy Hilfiger 'DANI' Timepiece and Stainless Steel Chunky Bracelet. The Electra Handbag by HaveBest is REAL LEATHER and retails at only £32 - BARGAIN! The bag itself is in the style of a Birkin Handbag by Hermes. It's easy to carry, either on the shoulder using the provided strap, across the body or on your forearm. It's the most amazing bright red handbag, which I know I will use so much, especially when I wear red lipstick.

This outfit has to be one of my most daring, and absolute favourites too. It's bright, bold and oozes confidence and determination. This outfit echoes power dressing, so would be great for an interview, day at the office, important meeting or even a first date! Each component of this outfit team perfectly together. The gold accents on the watch team with the gold accents on the bag and shoes; the red stripes on the blouse team perfectly with the shoes, handbag and lipstick and the black trousers tone the outfit down a little, slim the legs and ensure the overall effect of the outfit looks sharp, crisp and classic.

  1. You definitely do rock the reds! I'm a lover of the colour too, against my pale skin it really stands out! I just need to make sure I have the right tone of red to go nicely!
