Prada, a brand that's classic and classy but still edgy in it's own
right. “I hope it looked ironic,” said Miuccia
Prada backstage after her AW15 showcase. She was referring to the
pastel, princess-esque neoprene dresses that flooded the
catwalk. Embellished erratically with gems and jewels galore,
these princess-esque dresses have been a big hit this year and have defined the
entire AW15 season. But how? How could such a pretty, pastel and sugary dress become the most sought after dress for such a cold and gloomy season!?
Miuccia has done it. She has designed THE dress that we all want. This neoprene beauty will most likely be replicated by many high-street stores for us fashionistas who can't afford the real thing - which is a blessing for us all.
Neoprene has been MASSIVE in the UK for the past year and we have all embraced this so well and it seems that we will have to embrace it for a lot longer too, thanks Miuccia! I wore a neoprene suit to LFW last Feb and it went down so well, I feel like I should re-vamp it and embellish it in gems!?
This feminine dress has been seen on Katy Perry (Japanese Vogue), Rosie Huntington-Whitely (Bazaar) and Rita Ora (Marie Claire). These covers all hit the shelves during this month alone, not to mention this 'wonder dress' being featured in a few editorial spreads such as American Vogue, Teen Vogue and W Magazine too.
This feminine and pretty dress is available for pre-order and retails at £2,580. I don't think this price is too bad considering the detailing, the design, the label and the press attention. All in all, if I could afford to splash out on the dress that's defining AW15, I totally would!
